SIzzle! Hot Wax Prints

June 22, 2012 - July 28, 2012

Santa Fe based artist Paula Roland is the national authority in the encaustic wax printmaking technique. Each of Roland's prints is as unique and unpredictable as the New Mexican landscape that she calls home. The heated wax and colorful pigments move in diverse ways, slowly revealing an artistic narrative that is then transferred onto environmentally mindful Shikoku paper. Although Roland is in charge of each print she creates, the underlying level of uncertainty brilliantly creates monotype prints that can never be re-created or foreseen.
