For nearly half a century, Croatian-born, Houston-based artist Nadezda Prvulovic has created paintings that are inspired by her first sight of abandoned melting cauldrons upon a visit to the steel factories in Thionville, France. Prvulovic studied painting and sculpture at the University of Fine Arts in Belgrade, Serbia, and Montenegro. Upon emigrating to France, she studied at the School Andre Lotin in Paris, and worked there for two years with sculptor Ossip Zadkine in his studio. Prvulovic's work has been exhibited throughout Europe and the United States. The artist has been living in Texas since the mid 1980's, and also maintains a residence in New York City.
