Maxim Wakultschik
‘Closely Watched Trains’

Maxim Wakultschik, a German-based Neo-Pop painter and sculptor, returns to the Anya Tish Gallery for his third United States solo exhibition on Friday, May 15. Born in the Soviet Union in the region now forming the Republic of Belarus, Wakultschik has lived since 1993 in Düsseldorf, where he studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy under the guidance of such recognized theoreticians and exponents of the New European art as Beate Schiff and Janis Kounellis. He was also strongly influenced by the leading European painter of our time, Gerhard Richter.
